Observations: Bendigo and Nature

Bendigo is a city surrounded by forest, and it is home to many visual artists who are inspired by trees, landscape, flora and fauna.

It is also a city with an ambitious built history, created by a community enriched by the toil of the goldrush, changing forever the lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung people of the region.

Photographers Liz Martin and Alan Spalding have teamed up to present an exhibition dedicated both to their beloved city and to their appreciation of the natural world, the pleasure to be found in close and contemplative observation, and creative inspiration.

The exhibition will open on Wednesday August 9 at 6pm, and be on show in the foyer Gallery of The Capital throughout the festival.

Free access.
