One of Australia’s favourite novelists, educator, literacy advocate and international bestseller, John Marsden collected poems he loves in a book he called For Weddings and a Funeral.
His love of words, and his belief in poetry, is very much part of his philosophy for life, and for writing.
For Festival 2017, John has put together a new selection of favourite poems, and he is joined by actor John Flaus, to share beautiful, moving, inspiring poems, and to explain his passion for the power of words.
This event is in one of the oldest still-operating cinemas in the country, the Star in Eaglehawk, which is a 10-minute drive north of the Capital in View Street.
It is a true neighbourhood cinema, and the building is right on the corner of the historic precinct of this proud community.
