Vox Bendigo fyffe Writing Award now open for entries
Entries are invited in two categories, for this year’s Vox Bendigo Fyffe Writing Award.
Vox Bendigo Poetry Prize: up to 30 lines, no topic or format restrictions. Judged by Cate Kennedy and Scott Alterator.
Vox Bendigo Essay Prize: up to 1000 words, no topic restrictions. Judged by David Astle and Rosemary Sorensen.
Winners receive $500 prize and publication as a small-format zine, launched at Bendigo Writers Festival, August 11-13, 2017
Entries open Wednesday 1 February, 2017, and close Wednesday April 26, 2017.
Online entry is preferred: a link to the Capital website will be available here and at Bendigo Writers Festival facebook from February 1. Entry by mail must be accompanied by a cheque or credit card details: please send to Vox Bendigo Fyffe Writing Award, c/- The Capital, 50 View Street, Bendigo 3550.
Conditions of entry
There is a $10 entry fee: multiple entries are allowed but each poem or essay needs to be accompanied by a $10 fee.
All entries must be unpublished (personal blog posts excepted) and the work of a single author, resident in Australia.
Poems and essays non-fiction on any subject, including memoir and descriptive) will be judged on quality of writing and creativity. New and established writers of all ages are encouraged to enter.
A shortlist will be announced, at the judges’ discretion, by May 30. Winners announced by June 30.
