49. Creating Vivid Children's Book Characters with illustrator Liz Duthie

  • Bendigo Art Gallery 42 View Street Bendigo, VIC, 3550 Australia (map)

How do illustrators create unique, believable children's book characters? How is text used to help design a character? What are art directors looking for in children's book characters?

Find out in this fun and practical workshop where you will create and play with your own unique children's book character, in a series of settings. Build your folio, and/or just enjoy experimenting! Suitable for illustrators and adults who love to draw at any stage. Liz Duthie is a local visual artist and children's book illustrator who has worked for Walker Books Australia, Little Pink Dog Books and the National Library of Australia. Her books include Wombat by Christopher Cheng, and Captain Thunderbolt's Recital by Jane Jolly.
