For many of us the memory of food is powerful, whether it’s nan's fruit cake or your mum's lasagna, there is a direct connection between the brain and taste. Science tells us that food memories can trigger a release of dopamine. This panel will discuss how what we cook and eat and who we choose to share food with can impact our mental health.

Join Amelia Mellor, author of The Grandest Bookshop in the World series as she shares the real EW Cole's books and discusses how they inspired her own books. This workshop will involve solving similar riddles to those used in both Amelia's books, and Mr Cole's books - there may even be a competition or quiz! Middle grade fiction novels.

Join Trace Balla, story catcher and hatcher, as she discusses her books, Rivertime, Rock-hopping, Landing with Wings and Leaf-Light then create a collaborative comic story of place with Trace. Children will also make a start on their own cartoon strips with Trace’s guidance. A super fun workshop for all ages.
