Jane Clifton
Jane will perhaps always be best remembered for a role she played 40 years ago: MARGO in Prisoner/Cell-Block H but has managed to carve out a 5 decade-long, showbusiness career as well; including a string of roles in numerous Australian TV shows from Division 4, Homicide, Ryan, Bluey and Holiday Island, fronting the ground-breaking feminists-on-Countdown band STILETTO, being part of the smash-hit stage shows MUM'S THE WORD and MENOPAUSE – THE MUSICAL, her top 10 pop singles GIRL ON THE WALL (solo) and TAXI MARY (with Jo Jo Zep), 3 published crime novels - Half Past Dead, A Hand in the Bush, a memoir, The Address Book, and an anthology of poetry A Day At A Time In Rhyme, which is now a one woman show.
Using the four seasons as a framing device, the show takes us into a year of Jane’s life as she peels back the layers to share her witty – and often poignant – observations on life, particularly from an older woman’s perspective, which we don’t often hear or see on stage. Supported by sound effects, music pads and projections, Jane will perform about 35 of the original 365 poems in a dramatised monologue. An intimate hour of fun and reflection that will leave the audience feeling uplifted and more connected to themselves – and the people around them.
