Dr. Shannyn Palmer
Dr Shannyn Palmer was awarded the 2024 Ernest Scott Prize, which is awarded annually to a book based on original research judged to be the most distinguished contribution to the history of Australia or New Zealand or to the history of colonisation, for her book Unmaking Angas Downs: Myth and History on a Central Australian Pastoral Station.
Shannyn was also the recipient of the 2023 Prime Minister's Literary Award for Australian History for the same book. She has spent over a decade of working in community engagement, facilitation and research with First Nations people and communities and government and non-government organisations in the arts, cultural and cultural heritage sectors.
